Recent research has confirmed what educators have always known: music develops the mental abilities of students and increases academic performance.

But music should not be studied for that reason, but rather because it is a universal language of enormous power. Children must be trained to discern and love the good, true, and beautiful in all of the arts, but especially in music. Mathematical at its base, music expresses thoughts and emotions with an almost divine power to touch the soul. Music is comparable to Latin in its potential to form the character of a student and define the culture of a school.

Here at Crossroads Christian Academy we offer one-on-one private lessons  for a wide variety of instruments which are taught by our talented Ms. Crystal Murphy. Music enrichment is taught to students in a classroom setting during the school week and private music lessons are available on Fridays. Whether you are a 7 year-old student who just got your first guitar or a 13 year-old student who has been playing for years, we have the skill-set and experience to guide your playing to the next level, and HAVE FUN doing it! Students may select instrument lessons ranging from piano to violin, guitar to ukulele, and more.

We are also currently encouraging students to sign up for our school’s string ensemble which we are hoping to get started once enough participation has been determined. Please note that instrument rental will be available for student use in the string ensemble should they need accommodations.Music completes the triad of universal languages, but it has its own special attributes not possessed by the other two.
